Virtual Reality Glasses
Virtual Reality Games have become very popular with teens and now you can use them with your smartphone! This Panasonic VR Headset works with Android and iPhone and not only can you play games, but you can also watch Netflix and YouTube!
Drones vary in price range, but for a teen or tween getting their first one, it’s best to start with one on the less expensive side. Drones are pretty easy to use, they’re battery operated and can be flown indoors or outdoors. Kids are allowed to fly drones, but it’s always best to check state laws and talk about safety before they fly their drone. Holy Stone HS170 Mini RC Quadcopters Drones with 2.4G 4CH 6 Axis Gyro
Teens and tweens seem to have earbuds permanently fixed to their heads and Beats is the most popular brand our there. A pair of Beats headphone can run you more than $200.00 and if that’s in your budget, go for it! But if it’s not, the Beats Earbuds are a great quality and still rep that name brand. There are tons of colors and styles to chose from.
Gaming usually takes up a big part of a teenager’s time, so a bungee chair gives them a fun place to sit while they’re trying to win the Super Bowl in their Madden Xbox game. These chairs are SUPER comfy and can hold a lot of weight. My boys each have one and my husband and I routinely steal them, because they’re fun to sit in!
Bike Wheel Lights
I’m a safety girl and these lights are amazing. Teens and tweens start to want their independence and might start riding their bike to their friends house. If they’re out at night, these lights look cool and also help cars to see them.
If you have a sports lover, this is a great gift. For just $20 for the year, they’ll get a new issue mailed to them every month, plus a t-shirt from their favorite NFL team. Two of my boys are huge sports fans and my mom got them this one year and now she has to buy it for them every year, because they like them so much! You can order online here: Kids Sports Illustrated.
If you want to get them some sports gear to go along with their subscription, sites like Fanatics and MLBshop.com have everything from hats to t-shirts to pajamas and they regularly run some great sales.
Fishing Rod and Reel Combo
If you have a teen or tween who enjoys the outdoors, a fishing rod and reel is a great gift. A lot of boys use their dad’s fishing rod, so they might enjoy having their own. The one shown above is from Amazon and comes with a carry bag that makes it easy to travel with, but you can also find great fishing rods at Walmart or Bass Pro Shops.
I know, I said I was a safety girl and now I’m telling you to buy a dartboard. But this one is magnetic! The darts cling to the board with magnets instead of metal, so it’s totally safe! It’s easy to hang and they’ll have fun playing darts alone or with friends.
The Last Apprentice Series
For kids who love to read, The Last Apprentice series by Joseph Delaney is a definite step up from Harry Potter. This 13 book series is a little darker view into witches, ghosts and boggarts and was made into a movie called The Seventh Son. My kids would finish one book and immediately pick up the next one.
Guy’s Guide to God, Girls and the Phone
in their Pocket
If you want to give a gift that has meaning, this is a great book for young men. Teenagers are starting to decide what path they’ll take and they get messages from so many different places. This book is direct, funny and real and helps to guide teens on topics ranging from personal hygiene (I mean, they all need a refresher on that) to overusing technology to what they want their future to be like.
I hope this gift ideas for teen boys help you find a fun gift for the teen or tween on your list!
